[Missouri] First night trip of the year
« on: April 13, 2017, 11:20:31 PM »
I took my son-in-law to Stockton lake last night.  We started fishing with swing jigs and the Ned rig.  They bit the Ned way better than the swing jig.  We never go a bite on anything else until just before dark.  We moved to a very rocky area and started throwing different baits.  He was using a plastic bait in monkey milk while I was using a home made black/orange buck tail jig.

After less than 10 casts I had boated 6 fish and he had had no bites.  He switched to the same jig and we proceeded to have a blast.  We wound up taking 107 fish between 7 and 10 pm.  They were still biting when he called a halt and we headed home.

We wound up catching 2 nice walleye (18 and 21 inches), 33 small and large mouth and 72 white bass.  It was a great night.

Thanks for the report and sounds like y'all had a blast and caught lots of fish.  :applaud: I haven't been night fishing in a long time. I might have to try it again on my upcoming trip.
