Bows.
« on: February 12, 2017, 02:46:25 PM »
Personally, I have just ordered my Hoyt PowerMax from Sons of Grant's Sporting Goods in Dalton, Ga.  I have shot this bow several times at their store.  I have also shot Diamonds, Bowtechs, and Matthews.  I have held PSE's, but they seemed heavier than the rest of the bows.  When I shot the PowerMax, though, I had the "ah-ha" moment that I hadn't had with any other bow I had shot. ;)

A buddy of mine just bought himself a new bow. Don't remember the make, but it ran about $500.00.

He was showing his kid how to draw a bow. Before the clerk could stop him, he dry fired that thing and it shattered. He said he had to buy his boy ice cream so he wouldn't tell his mom. :lmao:

Wowzers!  Billy, the bowtech at Grant's, made sure I knew not to dry fire the bows I was testing out.  Which.....if you watch the video on the PowerMax bow on Hoyt's website, they go through 1000 dry-fire's before they are sent through to the dealer.  Luckily, for Billy, I had been shooting bows for a while and I knew better.  I can certainly feel his pain about not having to tell the wife.

Out the door, the bow I am purchasing was $599.  It is a package deal, coming with a 5-pin Fuse sight, Fuse quiver, wrist sling, Fuse blade stabilizer, and a QAD drop-away arrow rest.  I am coupling the bow with a Scott Archery Mongoose release.

I shoot a 2007 Archery Research 32. Its a Pete Sheppard (owner of PSE) design he came up with when he first sold PSE. I love this bow and don't see ever buying another as it still fills the freezer,
