Hi, What Kayak do you Fish with?
I fished for ten or more years in a 9 foot Victory Blast sit-in. A simple setup that is easy to pick up at 39 lbs., handled well in the water, was bit cramped at times but was able to catch a ton of fish in over the years. A fun kayak that I still use from time to time.
Last year I got a Wilderness Systems 115 Ride. A very stable 11 1/2 foot boat that tracks well, has some good additions like nice size compartments, rear flush mount rod holders, an anchor trolley system, side tracks to mount things like scotty rod holders, or camera equiptment, etc. I also just got from YakAttack a Panfish Camera mount pole for from behind me filming angles and a mighty mount for in front.
The stability is awesome because I can stand up to sight fish with it since it has pontoon style bottoms. I got the better seat that sits up 4 inches higher with good adjustability and allows easier entering and exiting. The freedom of movement is great which I didn't have with the Blast sit-in. I really like as water temperatures rise, I can sit sideways with my feet in the water.
At 77 Pounds bone dry and 33 inches wide it can be a bit difficult to get on and off of my roof rack. I lift it off by hand but load it on using my kayak cart turned upside on my trunk. I also have a Perception Swifty sit-in that I use a lot because of it easy on easy off quality. It has rod holders and I added gear tracks for camera mounts and an additional rod holder if necessary. I want to also add a anchor trolley too.
