[Missouri] Lake of the Ozarks
« on: May 09, 2017, 10:02:23 PM »
Lake of the Ozarks was not very good to me. The wife and I went to the state park with the RV last weekend. Caught four in two days. Water was chocolate milk, due to two deluges last week, 12 and 3 inches of rain.  here is what I got  plus a couple non fish pics.

What a crappy fishing report. Sorry guys and gals. We had fantastic weather, temps in the high 60s low 70s. Water temps ranged from 60-65, chocolate brown water where we were.  All fish, even the catfish, were caught on a Texas-rigged....(wait for it).........Brody Oil 7in Spearworm, dragging it slowly on the bottom.

I've always wanted to try fishing there. Still looks like a good time,  even without a ton of fish.

I am on Stockton which dumps into LOZ.   It has come up 10 feet since I have been here.  I am down by the dam where the water is still clear.   The spots and smallies are still on the old banks.  The green fish have disappeared.

I am heading to colored water with a spinner bait today.
If you're too busy to go fishin' you're too busy.

At least you had some nice weather and that was a lot of rain. I cut my fishing trip short because of all the rain we had and the lake conditions but the worst thing was the water temps dropped from around 70* when I first got there before all that rain to 55* after the water came up 10' in two days.

I was impressed that you towed a camper and a boat.....

It's a chore from me to tow a boat and chew gum!

Would you believe the water level at LOZ was about a foot low. All gates were open on Monday afternoon when I passed the dam on the way home.  I also heard that Truman was about 10+ over pool. Holding water as not to flood out the "Harbor Hop" on LOZ. Money talks and the rest of us deal with flooding. Actually, that is what I like about LOZ, they never let it get more than a foot or so high. Too much money at stake. So the most you have to worry about is chocolate brown water.

I wish I could tow both of my rigs like that, that right there is frowned upon here in Va.

At least ya got out and some fun anyway, thanks for the report and the pics, much appreciated !!

I don't know if LOS has the same rules and regs. as the other lakes since it is a privately owned lake and not COE.
