[Tennessee] Club tournament
« on: November 07, 2018, 10:19:00 AM »
Fished a club tournament on Cherokee Saturday morning with one of my sons. Was cool and windy most of the day. Saw 56*-61* water temps. Spent the whole tournament uplake. Started out throwing topwater. Had a good one on the 3rd cast. Moved across the point and put keeper #2 in boat. Moved to another Rocky point and picked up #3. Back across the lake and #4 in livewell on same thing we got#3 on: Megabass 110 Jr.
By now it's 9:30 and the clouds burned off and the grind began. We caught a lot of short fish cranking the rest of the day, but no more keepers.
Back to ramp for the 4pm weigh in. Ended up with 10.7 lbs in four fish, with 4.11 being our big fish. Turned out to be good enough to win and picked up the big fish honors as well.
One of the guys that runs the tournament came up with the neatest deal for weigh in I have ever seen. The table behind me in the one pic has a sink next to the scale table. They put an open crate in the sink, you dump the fish-water into sink, they lift crate to weigh and you put your bag under the pipe and pull a lever to put water back in bag. They weigh firsh and drop them back in water in bag.
