[Contest] August Dink Contest
« on: August 05, 2017, 08:09:16 AM »

Last month we started up our Dink Contest again. We had some good entries and @stgfish became our first Dinkmaster here at Fishinpedia.

We are going to keep the ball rolling and get the August dink contest rolling.

What is a dink you may ask?

A dink is a bass that is not of legal length yet. It is not large enough to keep or weigh in. We all catch them. We try hard to put together a pattern to catch the biggest fish yet, during that process, these little aggressive runt bass attack our baits. We think nothing of it other than it's not the one we need. We unhook them, perhaps chuckle, then release and keep on fishing. The way we at Fishinpedia see it, those little bass deserve respect too.

Well now those Dinks can actually win you some free fishing tackle if you are a member of Fishinpedia!

Not a member of Fishinpedia's bass fishing community yet? No problem. You can Register Here. It's fast and free. (If you have any issues registering, contact us at Here)

Just print out the image of the verification sheet shown above (and attached below) and keep it in your boat or tackle box. Then, every time you catch a dink, take a picture of it with the "I am Fishinpedia's Dinkmaster August 2017" sheet, and then post it in the "Dinks R Us" board or here in this thread.

Just because your dink may not be as small as mine (pictured above) you should still enter yours because you will be competing against other members of Fishinpedia, not me. You may enter as many times as you wish each month.

The smallest bass wins!

All entries MUST be photographed with the "I am Fishinpedia's Dinkmaster August 2017" sheet clearly visible in the image.

  • All bass must be caught on typical bass fishing baits.
  • No netting.
  • No live bait.
  • All bass MUST be photographed still hooked on the bait.

To keep it fair, No single member may win two months in a row.

It couldn't be any easier!

Start fishing for your dink entry today!

Just download the PDF file of our verification sheet attached to the bottom of this post, open it and print it.

After you have the image printed, carry it with you whenever you go fishing in case you catch a winning dink.

ALL DINKS MUST BE RELEASED!

Congratulation to stgfish for being the first Dink Master. :applaud: :applaud: I had one that would of give you a run for the prize but it was caught on a minnow while we were Crappie fishing. :DI had one even smaller that this one but didn't get a picture of it also caught on a minnow.

My friend John caught this one which was even smaller and two days later I caught the same one by the same tree.
Yet it's a LMB and not much bigger that the minnows we were using to catch the Crappie we were after.

Looks like I'm out of the picture as my printer crashed and I can't print the scale page.  Good Luck to the rest of you.
Put a rod in my hand and a boat under my feet and watch me catch bass.

Here's my entry for August. Not the smallest dink but no monster bass either.
Just remember that all Dinks are really Lunkers in training!

I just realized that the word August and most of the qualifier numbers are covered by this fish's enormous girth. You can see the "Q1" though.
Let me know if this makes the cut, or better yet, someone catch one smaller than this 8 1/2 inch one !
