Been on the road for the past 10 days fishing the USA BASSIN Aluminum Cup, there Lucas Oil Cup and the TN BASS Nation Stat tournament.
The first two tournaments were on Kentucky lake out of the dam. The Aluminum Cup hat 2307 boat and was a two day tournament. We had 15.57 on day one and I lost a really good fish that would have put us in the 18 pound range, but we were in 30th place. Day two we managed to put 18.30 in the boat and ended the tournament with 33.87 good enough for 6th place. That one fish still haunts me as it took 37.23 to win.
The Lucas Cup had 171 boats and was a one day shoot out. The fishing was a lot tougher as we only got 5 keeper bites all day and two of them came in the last 30 minutes of the day. We brought 16.71 to the boat and took 6th place.
Caught all our fish flipping bushes, but water was dropping and needed to locate them further out, watching the Elites doing in now on BASS Masters Live.
Drove 4 hours after the tournament to Douglas Lake for the TN BASS Nation State tournament, got a couple hours sleep and got to practice from 6 am until 12 pm. Found a couple fish, but not the right size. The Stat tournament a 2 day is an individual tournament.  Day one I manage to get a limit for 9+ pounds which put me inn 25th place. Only the top 10 move on to the regional. I need a sack twice that size day two. I got out day two and put another small sack together for 9+. I finished the tournament in 24th with 18.92 and did not make the team.

The weather and the tournament staked up on each other killed me. I went to Douglas two weeks prior, but the water was down 10+ feet and 20 degrees cooler. Lessons learned, find a way to practice more and when catching small fish change up tactics and locations. I was junk fishing with everything from a chatter bait, plastics, and crankbaits. I found out I need to be in foot and a half of water throwing a spinnerbait and a topwater.

Off in the morning to run my USA BASSIN tournament below the Kentucky Dam.

Have a great day,
