Poor start as a boater in the BFL
« on: March 18, 2018, 10:43:58 AM »
Tournament fishing can be a very humbling sport and today was just that for me. I had hoped to do well in my first BFL as a boater on Kentucky Lake and it was just not meant to be as I unable to catch a keeper today. I have learned what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. In tournament fishing you have to learn and move on to the next event. My knowledge of changing conditions must improve and to add to that don’t be hard headed, must be more adapt to change quickly. I had the opportunity to practice for 3 days before the tournament. Due to floods the water was continuing to drop 7’ in two weeks and winds changing from north to south with drastic temps in the morning from 23 degrees to 57. To say I missed it was an understatement, but with that said only 87 out of the 150 boaters weighed fish in. The flip side was it took 29-8 to win, 27-1 for second, and 18-3 third. Have to put this one behind me and move on.

Thanks for the report and all you can do is put this one behind you and learn from what you didn't do right and move on and better luck on your next one.

Sorry about the tough tourney Joe, you're smart enough and good enough to turn it around, I'm sure.

Better luck next time and good to see you.

Sorry to hear that Joe. Well the season is still young. I know you will bounce back. Just stay tough and your season will be rewarded great.  (y) (y) (y)
